Northwest Branch Swim Team

I am excited to return as Head Coach for another season! I grew up participating in swim lessons and stroke and turn clinics at the nearby MLK Swim Center. However, my favorite swimming memories began in 2011 when my family joined Northwest Branch. From then on, summer was spent cheering loudly for my teammates, scouring the thrift store for the perfect costume and making posters for my Dolphin Buddies. Outside of the summer season, I swam with RMSC, DC Triathlon Club and Northwood High School. I graduated from the team, as well as Northwood HS and Montgomery College, in 2021.

During the off-season, I coach Swim & Dive and JV Girls Lacrosse at Northwood HS. Additionally, I am an instructor for Daleview’s winter Stroke & Turn clinic. Outside of the Dolphins, I swim with DC Aquatics Club and play lots of ultimate frisbee. Go Dolphins!

My name is Teddy McDonough. I am a rising Sophomore at Davidson College in North Carolina where I will be swimming in my second year for a Division 1 program. Last summer, I capped off 13 years with the Dolphins and eight years at RMSC. This is my third year as an NWB assistant coach, prior to that I was a pre-team coach for two years. Over the course of my swimming career I have been heavily influenced by my NWB coaches to be a better swimmer, but more importantly, a better person and teammate. I hope that I can have a similar impact on my fellow dolphins.

Hi Dolphins! My name is Mia and I am a rising sophomore at the University of Maryland. I grew up on the NWB swim team, spending 10 summers swimming, cheering, and dressing up for theme days. I have been involved with the group lessons program and taught private lessons for the younger swimmers the past 4 years. Swimming at NWB has always meant a lot to me and I have made some of my closest friends and favorite memories through the swim team. I am excited to coach this summer and hope to make this a fun and successful season!

My name is Charlotte Dedolph and I am a rising senior at Bethesda Chevy Chase high school. I have been swimming at Northwest branch for over 10 years and previously was a pre team coach for 2. I swam club swim with RMSC and ASA for a total of 7 years. My favorite NWB tradition is the Dave and Busters excursion! Outside of swimming, I love to hangout with friends, go on walks and cook. Go Dolphins!

Hi my name is Pernille Holton and I have been on the Northwest Branch swim team for nine years and been have been doing club swim for 5 years. I am currently a rising senior at Montgomery Blair high school and enjoy swimming there as well as doing field hockey and lacrosse. Outside of school I enjoy skiing and traveling. Being a dolphin is one of my favorite things so I am very excited for this year!

Hi Junior Dolphins! My name is Mimi, and I am the head pre-team coach for the 2026 season. I love being a Dolphin! I have been on the team since I was three and this is my fifth year coaching pre-team. I was a competitive swimmer for 14 years, and I now swim D1 at Drexel University! I hold records both at NWB and at Montgomery Blair High School. 

Swimming means so much to me and it all started here at NWB. I love NWB because it's all about having fun! I'm so excited to coach pre-team because it's the very place my love for swimming started and I hope to show all the new young dolphins how fun swimming can be. I want to ensure that every young dolphin has a great experience learning to swim. I can't wait to see you in the pool!
