Dolphins Win the Week
Happy Sunday Dolphins!
We made it through another long week of Swim Team and are officially more than halfway through the season.
On Wednesday we had our meet against the Franklin Knolls Gators. Once again, the Dolphins crushed the Pride theme! Thunderstorms couldn't stop us from swimming hard and the Dolphins ended the night with 187 best times.
On Thursday we enjoyed some AC at the Team Movie. Your swimmer missed this social time with their Dolphin teammates, we have our Dave and Busters outing on Tuesday. Use THIS LINK to register your kids!
This year's NWB Olympics Pep Rally was a huge success! In addition to pieing all the coaches in the face, swimmers (and parents) created incredible Minecraft posters and chalk drawings to welcome the Woodley Gardens Wave.
NWB brought the heat on Saturday and won the meet against Woodley Gardens 411-381! Coaches loved seeing all the DIY Minecraft costumes, buddy gifts and handshakes after races. We brought the spirit, cheering so loud that Maddie could hear the Dolphins across the pool at the scratch meeting. We ended the day with 50 best times!
Congrats to Mimi Moore on setting a new Pool Record in 15-18 100IM!
The next two weeks of swim team are super busy, so buckle up!
The deadline to declare for our Intrasquad B-meet is Monday 6/30 @ 5:00pm. Please remember to select strokes for your swimmer (MAX 3). Additionally, we have added 2 fun bonus events– the 15-18 25 Freestyle and a 14&U Freestyle Relay. The events DO NOT count towards the 3 event maximum. You can select these events for your swimmer if they are interested. Keep in mind that relays will happen at the end of the meet only if there is enough interest, so let us know by declaring for the “14&U 175 Freestyle” in Swimtopia. We hope to divide into two teams and have a little friendly Dolphin competition.
We need lots of volunteers for this meet, especially for stroke and turn and timing. This meet will be quicker, since it’s just our team! Please sign up for these jobs if you are available.
This weekend, we have 2 meets– a dual meet at Old Georgetown and Relay Carnival at Connecticut Belair! The deadline to declare for Saturday’s A-Meet is Wednesday, July 2nd at 5:00pm. It’s a holiday weekend, so please let us know if you are available or not.
The deadline to declare for Relay Carnival is Friday, July 4th at 11:59pm. This is a fun meet, with Medley Relays for each age group, Mixed Freestyle Relays and Mixed Age Group Relays. The Relay Carnival lineup cannot be finalized until after Saturday’s meet, but it is very important that we know your availability so we can plan out the relays.
We have normal Morning and Evening practices this week, including a fun practice on Friday, July 4th. We will also have a brief Pep Rally on Friday.
Coaches have updated their lesson availability, so check out the Swim Lessons page on Swimtopia.
