Get Ready For a Busy Holiday Week!
On Wednesday, the Dolphins swam against their rivals– the Franklin Knolls Gators. Once again, we did a great job with the pride theme and received compliments from the other team. It was a late night with lots of great swims, including 136 best times.
Happy Birthday to all of our Dolphins with summer birthdays! The birthday party pep rally was very successful. It even rained, like it tends to do during summer pool parties! Thank you to all of the volunteers who helped run the stations!
On Saturday, we came to Potomac decked out in what we hope to be when we grow up. The meet results may not have been what we hoped for, but we still saw 70 best times and 36 All-Star times!
Our next B-Meet of the season is WEDNESDAY! The deadline to declare your swimmer is TONIGHT (6/28) at 11:30pm. Please make sure that you are also selecting events for your swimmer. Swimmers are allowed to participate in a maximum of 3 events. If they swam an event in the most recent A-Meet, they are not eligible to swim it again, unless they DQd. Coaches get the final say in what events a swimmer swims.
The theme for Wednesday’s meet is CAREER DAY. We did a great job dressing up for this on Saturday, so let’s see it again!
Please declare your swimmer for the next A-Meet by Wednesday 7/1 at 11:30pm. The meet is on Saturday, 7/4 at home. YES THIS IS THE 4TH OF JULY. The meet will start earlier than usual (8:00am), so the meet should not impact any holiday plans. DO NOT assume that your swimmer will not “make” the meet. Please declare your swimmer “Yes” if they are able to attend. Anyone is eligible to swim in Saturday’s meet and the lineup is impacted by swimmer’s times and availability.
The theme for Saturday’s Meet is PROM. Come dressed to impress! We will be celebrating our seniors Asher and Elliot.
Finally, Relay Carnival is Sunday, July 5th. Please declare your swimmers ASAP. This is a fun meet, with Medley Relays, Mixed Freestyle Relays and Mixed Age Group Relays. The Relay Carnival lineup cannot be finalized until after Saturday’s meet, but it is very important that we know your availability so we can plan out the relays. The theme will be COWBOYS.
Temperatures will be in the 100s for most of this week. Please make sure that swimmers are hydrating during the day and bringing water bottles to practice
