Dolphins are First in Division D!
Happy Sunday,
There is NO PRACTICE TOMORROW (morning or evening). Please use this day to rest and recover from the hot holiday weekend.
The week started off a little sleepy, following the teen sleepover– which resulted in 13&Overs getting in the pool later than normal, even though they were already at the pool! Some much needed sleep and two more practices led us to Wednesday’s meet at Robin Hood. The Dolphins achieved 130 best times, due to their hard work, the water misters and the World Cup excitement.
Our final B-Meet of the season will take place on Wednesday, July 8th at HOME. The deadline to declare for this meet is TOMORROW (Monday, July 6th) at 11:59pm. As a reminder, swimmers are only allowed to swim 3 events and cannot swim an event they did in this Saturday’s meet, unless they were DQ'd. The theme is Popstar/Rockstar.
Thursday and Friday we brought the fun, with our annual Dave and Busters outing and Fourth of July fun practice. The Dolphins showed their talents beyond swimming – winning at claw machines, t-shirt races and of course, playing an intense game of waterpolo.
On Saturday, we honored our two graduating seniors – Asher and Elliot. Both of these swimmers are long time Dolphins who have dedicated themselves to improving their swimming and being positive role models for our team. Congratulations!
The Tallyho Foxes declined our invitation to Prom, through heartbreaking chalk messages on our pool deck. However, they still showed up and brought great energy to our meet – challenging us in the pool and through cheer battles. The meet began with a HUGE sweep in the 11-12 Boys IM, which set the tone for the day. In the end, 51 best times and some great relay finishes led the Dolphins to victory, with a final score of 429 to 363.
Congratulations to Nathan on setting a new team record in Boys 9-10 25m Breaststroke!
Our next A-Meet is away at Hallowell on Saturday, July 11th. The deadline to declare for this meet is Wednesday, July 8th at 11:59pm. DO NOT assume that your swimmer will not “make” the meet. Please declare your swimmer “Yes” if they are able to attend. Anyone is eligible to swim in Saturday’s meet and the lineup is impacted by swimmer’s times and availability. The theme is Popstar/Rockstar.
Today, we traveled to Potomac for Relay Carnival. We had great swims and great spirit! Highlights of the meet included our pre-meet hail cheer, combining with Tallyho to cheer at halftime and a photo finish in the parents relay. Congratulations to our 6 relays that finished in first place and are going to All-Star Relays! The Dolphins placed 1st at Relay Carnival and are now tied with Potomac for 1st in the Division. Results can be found here.
We want to shout out all of our swimmers and families who came to support the Dolphins at the meet! It was incredible to see so much NWB gear around the pool deck. A special thanks to all of our relay alternates. We know it is hard to show up to a meet that you may not swim in and we want these swimmers to know that we appreciate them!
Congratulations to Grace, Maisie, Shoshie and Lia for setting a new team record in the Girls 13-14 200m Medley Relay!
Finally, our Division Championship Meet will take place on Saturday, July 18th at 8:00am. The DEADLINE to declare for this meet is Saturday, July 11th at 11:59pm, since the entries are due on Sunday evening. Please let us know your availability as soon as possible.
